• Total property heat loss (via a comprehensive heat loss survey)
• Existing heating system including pipework, emitter such as radiators/underfloor heating and whether they are appropriately sized for a low temperature heating system 
• Access to and location of the external heat pump system and associated indoor components such as cylinder and buffer tank
• How the system will be used and number of thermostats- for example, a small bungalow with one thermostat would not be suitable for design in the same way as an eight bedroom house.
• If going via the Boiler Upgrade Scheme route, a set of performance estimates for your specified system as well as estimated running costs over an average year.
